About Us
Surface 1 ™ is a professional-grade brand of sport surfacing products for tennis, pickleball, basketball and multi-purpose courts and recreational areas. Court Resurfacing Steps
Clean the Court Surface
- Remove all dirt and debris from the surface with a broom and blower. Use a scraper to remove any loose coatings or other foreign material.
- Treat any areas that exhibit growth of moss, mold, or algae with a solution of 4 parts water to 1 part bleach. Let treated areas sit for 20 minutes and scrub with stiff bristled broom or brush. Follow up by cleaning entire court thoroughly with a pressure washer.
Fill Cracks and Depressions
Fill any cracks up to 1” wide with Surface 1 Acrylic Crack Filler using a trowel or putty knife. Mix and apply Surface 1 Patch Binder over any depressions up to 1/2” deep. Use a floor scraper to scrape surface after crack filling and patching material has dried completely.
Apply Color Coating
Apply Surface 1 One-Coat Color with a 3/4” nap roller or soft rubber squeegee (50-60 durometer recommended for rubber softness). Although Surface 1 is a “One Coat”product, multiple coats may be applied to fill surface voids and achieve a premium surface.
Limitations
Temperature must be 50 ˚F during application and for at least 24 hours after. Do not apply when rain is imminent within 24 hours. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying additional coats or lines. Drying time is dependent on temperature, shade, humidity, etc. (1 to 4 hours of dry time per coat can be expected).
