Surface 1 Sport Coating Base

Description

Surface 1 Sport Coating Base is a 100% acrylic coating for tennis, basketball, pickleball, multi-purpose courts and recreational areas. Surface 1 Sport Coating Base is fortified with sand to provide a safe, non-slip surface. Our revolutionary formula provides superior hiding and durability
with two coats.

Surface Preparation

New asphalt must cure for a minimum of 14 days, and new concrete must cure for a minimum of 30 days before
application. Surface must be clean and free from loose materials, dirt, organic growth, and other debris.

Mixing

Surface 1 Sport Coating Base is ready for tinting and application. Do not dilute with water. Mix one (1) Surface 1 Color Tint Pack into each pail of Surface 1 Sport Basing Coat. Stir thoroughly before applying.

Application

Apply Surface 1 Sport Coating Base with a soft rubber squeegee (50-60 durometer recommended for squeegee rubber softness). Surface 1 recommends applying the complete multi-coat system to fill surface voids, change color schemes, and achieve a longer-lasting surface. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying additional coats or lines.

Drying Time

Drying time is dependent on temperature, shade, humidity, etc. (1 to 4 hours of dry time per coat can be expected).

Weather Conditions

Application temperature must be a minimum 50˚F and rising. Do not apply when temperature is expected to drop below 50˚F within a 24-hour period. In areas where dew or fog accumulates in the early evening, it is best to coat in the morning. Stop coating by early afternoon (3:00 pm) to prevent wash off, which will occur if dew, fog, or rain arrives before coating dries. Do not apply if rain is imminent or forecast within 24 hours of application.

Coverage

1 gallon will cover approximately 90-100 sq. ft., depending on pavement porosity (405-450 sq. ft. per 4.5-gallon pail).
